The Tunde book for children of prisoners

A former co-worker of mine at Prison Fellowship Ministries out of Lansdowne, Virginia suggested taht she submit our book - Tunde, the Little Nigerian Prince - to her staff, to see if they found it to be good for a project they are doing. They are having prisoners read stories to their kids, tape them reading and send it to the children for Christmas from their parents.

Isn't that kool! I'll let you know how it goes.

At A Loss For Words

I don't really know what to say.

The Publisher hasn't been able to send me anymore books. I haven't got money to by a copy of myself. I don't know what to say. I hope other authors have this problem and I'm not here alone looking like a fool. I hope folks are buying the book and enjoying thoroughly. I know of one little 5 year old in India who enjoyed it.

This was be the illustrious life of a writer. I'm lovin' it. Won't complain. I have my hearts desire - following Jesus. He has led me here, so it must be good, for me, you, writers yet to be born. And one thing for sure I know, it's going to turn out good, because I serve a good God.

It's blogging time in my life. I can tell, because I wake up and thinking of a blog I want to send, gets me out of the bed.

Buzzing and Twittering

The 'Tunde book is now seen using a great, fun widget called Book Buzzr. Click on READ NOW and you can preview the book by turning the pages with your mouse.

Also, I'm on Twitter, http://twitter.com/CarrollAyo so go on and you can follow me.

Also...the second Tunde book has gone to the publisher. The title is "Tunde, the Little Nigerian Prince and the Soldier Ants". I'm excited, because I can see God's armies breaking down walls, pushing back obstacles that want to slow down this book from coming out soon. Join me in expectancy!

Stay Tuned.

Hi Everyone,

A little bit of sad news. Prince (Dr.) James ‘Tunde Durodola died, July 2nd 2009, at the age of 86. Yes, my dad has gone on to his wonderful home in heaven. That’s why it’s a little bit sad, because I will miss him. He was the best dad in the whole world and he was my pal and buddy too, but he’s dancing in Heaven now and having a ball! And I am soooo happy for him.

Tunde, the Little Nigerian Prince books are based on his life growing up in his town of Egbe, Nigeria, and they will go on and I’ll keep writing and I hope you kids will keep on enjoying them. It’s sad to have someone you love leave you, but you can be glad when you know where they are and it’s the best place in the whole wide world and a place they’ve been longing to go to. Like he told me some years ago, “Well, I can’t stay here forever”, but I wanted him to.

The next Tunde book has gone to the publisher, Sweeties Books. Its title is Tunde, the Little Nigerian Prince and the Soldier Ants. (This was Dad’s favorite) Prince Tunde has an adventure! Stay tuned for its pre-release date!

Love you all, Princess Ayo

The 'Tunde book's travels

Well the ‘Tunde book one, has been on a little adventure.

We expected to launch the 'Tunde book in Washington D.C. and be at Busboys and Poets and big bookstores at Pentagon City, but instead we are in Atlanta, Georgia, where we have never lived and know so few people. It was launched at Cathedral Towers a senior citizen apartment in Buckhead to an audience of about 30 grateful senior citizens and one even bought a book. Of course I autographed it with a flourish. The Lord had told me three years before “despise not small beginnings” and I certainly do not. The next place the ‘Tunde book and I were, was at Butler Street CME Church and Trustee Adesina was buying a copy. His son, of the same name as ‘Tunde, had passed away some years before.

There it is folks. The book is bringing pleasure already, as I’ve heard from one reader who said he loved that I illustrated the book myself and it didn’t have the usual, as he called it, “slick, dark, complicated covers I saw on many kids books”. The ‘Tunde book and I are in Powder Spring, Georgia, in a home of recent acquaintances who don’t think I’m crazy to have come to Georgia, moved by the Holy Spirit, with no plan of my own except to write. They are a pastor and his wife and their adorable three year old, who has already been told the story of ‘Tunde by his mommy and loves it.

Until next time.

It's Out!!!

YIPEE!!! The book is out.
Oh my goodness, I am sooo excited!!
God did it! It's out. Did you see how long I had to wait? Did you notice how patient I had to be?
It pays off, for now Tunde, the Little Nigerian Prince can be in the hands of every child in the world. I hope it does just that and is a blessing to many. I have a vision of children in the world who may not be able to afford to buy the book - $9.95 - being helped by other children in the world to buy it.

Bless you all for staying tuned. Buy as many as you can and spread the book around.

Pre-Publication Release! And waiting!

Hi Everyone:

Well, my children's picture book, "Tunde, the Little Nigerian Prince" is about to be released. We (yep, you and I)are in the pre-publication or pre-release stage. I've never been here before, so I'm having to learn patience I didn't think I'd have to use. It's like other things happening in my life right now. I'm waiting. It's good to be here, though. Like they say, anything good is worth waiting for (well, actually I just said that).

"Tunde's" coming! "Tunde's" coming! The book based on my dad's life when he was a little boy growing up in the village of Egbe, is coming! I hope you ask me lots of questions and if you're too small to type, that your parents help you to type questions for me in the Comments section under each post. But I'll try to tell you things kids have been asking me for 20 years!!!, yep, that long, as I have traveled across America, telling African stories.

I'm new at blogging, so if you are too, that's fine. We'll learn together.
